A well deserved rest day to allow recovery both physically and mentally is vital, especially in this cosy holiday villa .The past 6 days of continious cycling and most of it in the mountains , has more or less strengthen up my leg muscles and overall conditions. So far , the mood is right , the recumbent is good , no injuries , the people i met were friendly and helpful , whatsmore can a touring cyclist ask for? With my batteries fully charged and dirty clothes washed in the washing machines done , It is time to take a walk around. I went up to the Kuan Ying waterfall , about 200m from the hotel. The waterfall entrance just beside the road and has walk up wooden platforms and laid stones built for tourists to follow,a clear stream was flowing down obviously from the waterfall up on the hill. It took me 30 min to reach but the 50m waterfall sort of missing in strenght most properly due to no rain for the past weeks. Returned back to hotel and nothing much to do, I did a cleaning on the bike, oiled the chain and overall checking for damages or loose parts.Later I was surprise to receive a call from my B2P (beijing2paris) friends from Taichung and told me they are driving down here to meet me. These 3 friends have cycled from Beijing to Paris but follow different route, 3 weeks after me, Heather and Ulla on 10th Apr 2007.I was originally planned to cycle in Taichung to meet them ,but my plan changed and they took the trouble to meet me here. They arrived at 6pm and we had a delicious dinner at the hotel restauran. We exchanged B2P stories and one of them Hong Ping helped me to true up the rearwheel spokes
and fine tune the gears alignment.Thank you so much, guys !!
